Adult Classes
Requirements: n/a
Description: Our introductory course, for budding actors or non-actors.
Class #1: Introduction to the class, cold read a monologue given to you in class
Class #2: Perform a scene chosen for you with a partner e-mailed after class #1
Class #3: Perform a monologue chosen for you and e-mailed after class #2
Class #4: Perform a new scene chosen for you with a new partner e-mailed after class #3
Class #5: Work on the monologue from class #3 and scene from class #4 more intensively
Class #6: Perform the monologue and scene from class with feedback from a casting director
Advanced Adult Classes
Requirements: Audition and/or approval required.
Description: Advanced classes are for students who are ready for the next level. Improv, theatre games and scene work. The last class is spent showing students' work to a casting director.
Business of Acting
Requirements: Audition and/or approval required.
Dates: Saturdays, May 14-June 25, 4:30-6:30pm (No Class Sat May 28)
First Saturdays, July 2 - March 4, 4:30-6:30pm
Description: Our Business of Acting class is an individually tailored, year-long class designed to help you get a leg up in the world of acting, covering topics like: the biz: agents, manager, casting directors, breakdowns; headshots and resumes; knowing your type; creating a reel; joining unions; and more!
Casting Workshop
Requirements: Audition and/or approval required.
Date: June 9, 2016
Description: Our Audition Workshops feature three hours of one-on-one coaching with Cathy or Rob, work on creating or enhancing your resume, and a put your skills to work in front of four industry professionals from theater, film, and commercials in our Audition Workshop.
These are the same as the classes above, but are offered to alumni of Sedgwick Russell at a significant discount. Only purchase an alumni class if you have already taken a course at Sedgwick Russell.
Alumni-Only Discount Advanced Class
Requirements: Audition and/or approval required.
Description: The Advanced Class at a special Alumni Discount. Advanced classes are for students who are ready for the next level. Improv, theatre games and scene work. The last class is spent showing students' work to a casting director.
